Update: 2 September 2010
The preparations for the IFDT meeting are in full swing. As of 31 August, the deadline for registration, we had 70 participants from 42 countries. The conference hotel is fully booked. Fortunately, there are many hotels in the vicinity, within 5-10 minutes walk of the conference hotel (Hotel Cavalieri). Here are links to the map indicating hotels.
Update: 18 August 2010
The programme is shaping up nicely. There are many diverse issues to be addressed (traditional diplomatic issues, e-diplomacy, climate change) by speakers from all continents. We are still missing some input from IFDT members about new courses and programmes on offer. We will also need your input to adapt the session discussions to your needs. For example, you can suggest specific questions to be handled by presenters during their sessions. Simply e-mail your suggestions and details of new courses and programmes to: email@example.com
So far we have 40 IFDT members registered to participate in the event. The programme for the Gozo excursion is now available.
Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon!
The International Forum on Diplomatic Training [IFDT] was established in 1972, as a yearly Meeting of Deans and Directors of Diplomatic Academies and Institutes of International Relations, at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. The Forum is an informal gathering of Deans and Directors devoted to the discussion of issues of modern diplomacy and trends in diplomatic education.
This year, the 38th meeting, will be held in Malta. The meeting will be hosted by DiploFoundation, Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies and Malta's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
